Default I see Alex wasn't mentioned at all in the first episode of season 9

wondering is that because

1. Antenna TV cut the scene?

2. Going to be mentioned in another episode?

He was mentioned; the jist of the scene has the character Mark coming in holding a postcard stating it was from Alex and he asks Anne about him still being away; she says that he decided to stay with his mom this semester and Anne says something about having reservations about that decision.

Ann said she had mixed feelings about him spending the semester with his mother and Sam said that he didn't.

Boy, when they write you out on this show you are nothing but an afterthought.

David Kane was the only character given a proper send off.

Well, the actor Glenn Scarpelli landed another sitcom called "Jennifer Slept Here" with Ann Jillian. The show was canceled later in the season. I don't think it hurt him much as "One Day" was ending later in the season as Bonnie and Valerie didn't want to do the show anymore.

I do agree with you about characters being afterthoughts as they following were:
Ginny Wroblicki (Heck, she was flat out never mentioned again)
Nick Handris
Alex Handris
Mr. Davenport
Francine Webster (She was gone at the beginning of the final season but returned mid sesaon [Christmas Episode] and four eps afterwards)
Julie Cooper Horvath(She never had on on screen send off as actress was let go and pulled from the opening credits but still referred to as still living at home until the beginning of the 1984 New Year when off screen she has departed)

Really I didn't see that scene. All I remember the ep starting with Sam on the floor looking for something

Mark came by to pick up Sam so they could look for spaces for Mark's dental offices and mentioned that he got "this postcard from Alex and when is he coming back?" Ann told him that Alex was staying the semester with his mother.

The best thing about Alex was that, at least in the Julie gives birth 2 parter, he had Van Halen posters on his bedroom wall (somehow the kid didn't strike me as a rock guy ). And in a (probably) coincidental note, Alex was the name of Eddie's brother, also in the group. He was the drummer.

Good Trivia, opus. That actually is interesting to me. It is to have Van Halen posters in the room of the character who used to live in that room portrayed by Van Halen's wife.

Sound like that was in the script for him to make a possible return in the future.

Is Antenna TV still cutting the credits? I refuse to watch anything on a network that does this to shows.

The only shows I watch are Small Wonder and Evening Shade because both of them are aired with credits intact. I am afraid the weekends won't be like that for long though

I saw the Alex scene too. Does he come back during season 9 at all? I'm surprised Francine was dropped in Season 9. I will say that I thought Francine was hot.
