The poorly produced ABC daytime talk show can fix itself by getting rid of the guest co-hosts and the next-day reality TV talk.

I have never figured out how in the world The View continues to exist on ABC. But ever since it's launch in 1997 replacing ABC's Home The View was thought to be a short-lived talk show but with the original team of Whoopi Goldberg Meredith Veira Star Jones Joy Behar Lisa Ling and Barbara Walters ABC knew what a success this show would be but I think once Meredith Veira Lisa Ling and Star Jones left The View started going downhill and became a celebrity oriented show with The View focusing on celebrity gossip and celebrity interviews with stars such as Jeremy Renner Ryan Reynolds Hugh Jackman Oscar Issac Beyonce and other stars and if an actor/actress is starring in a new movie The View is usually the first show to do exclusive interviews with the cast of a new movie. But I can guarantee that The View will no longer exist in the future and be replaced by another successful talk show game show or soap opera. But how ABC can still hang on to The View i'll never figure out the answer

I'll never figure it out, either, and the first post from nine years ago says it's a mess, yet it's still with us.

I'm sure there are daytime shows with more appealing hosts than Joy Behar.

I don't think it's all that mysterious. It's popular for the same reason social media is. It's a place where uneducated people who don't know anything can have their feelings validated by uneducated celebrities, some who didn't even finish high school.

The original hosts were Barbara Walters, Meredith Vieira, Star Jones, Debbie Matenopoulos, and Joy Behar.

Lisa Ling replaced Debbie Matenopoulos in 1999 and Whoopi didn't come on until 2007.
