Default Was it really necessary to have Mike and the Other guy sit together when deciding who

to give the job too?

Talk about awkward, lol. I would not want the person who also went for the job anywhere near me after a decision was made

BTW: Did Edith and Archie have to be so selfish and get upset that Mike and Gloria was possibly moving to Minnesota for a better opportunity? Who the hell cares if they wasn't able to see Joey as much as they would like? lol

Very awkward!!

I can see Edith and Archie being upset about them moving that far away. Gloria was an only child, and Joey was the first grandchild!

But if Mike was chosen what was they to do, pass up a chance to make more money because of Archie and Edith? LOL

No he really shouldn't pass up a better job opportunity. Esp. if it was a lot more money. But moving his wife and child far away from her parents. Well IDK, I moved with my husband from Philly to LA. shortly after I got married, but no kids yet and my parents had my brother and sister still there. They could spare me! LOL!!!! But Minnesota is so darn cold! If the job opportunity was in California or Florida, I'd say Mike should jump on it!

LOL!!! It's funny cause the Minnesota job didn't pan out but Mike did end up getting a job out in California, further away from New York than Minnesota was!

And shortly after the move to California , Mike and Gloria started having marital problems. Remember the Christmas ep. when Archie, Edith and Stephanie went to visit them? I wonder why Gloria didn't go back to New York with Joey after the divorce? Remember the short lived spin off Gloria? I think instead of a spin off they should have had Gloria come back and be on Archie Bunker's place? Or a spin off with her back in New York, but not staying out in California after the divorce! What are your thoughts on this?

That's why I always said that ABP and Gloria should not be on DVD or any station because it will reveal that

1. Mike left gloria

2. Edith passed away

Just air All in the Family and let the situation end like it did in season 9 and that's it.

Gloria wasn't in CA on the spinoff was she? I thought she moved somewhere else?

The spinoff Gloria was set in NY so she didn't stay out in California.

That's what I thought from the opening credits.

That is one spinoff that should never be on DVD or syndication

Oh wow. I stand corrected!! I really thought she stayed in California!! She worked for a veterinarian I think? And was he the guy from My favorite Martian? That is all I remember. I think I only saw one or two eps. So long ago, I didn't even remember that it took place in NY, I was thinking she stayed in California!

That makes a lot more sense than. After her divorce, her and Joey should have went back home!

Yeah she was in Upstate NY and those opening credits made me cry, so sad lol

Fun Fact: TV Land aired Gloria as part of a Norman Lear Birthday celebration in August of 2002.

I recorded but got rid of it years ago

No the one who played on Gloria was Burgess Meredith. He was on a lot of old movies as well as Grumpy Old Men and TV audiences knew him as the Penguin on the old Batman TV series.

The guy on the left in the picture above is Lou Richards. That's the same actor who played the guy who took out a 15 year old Kimberly Drummond on a date when he was 25.

It reminded me of myself and my mom, I was born the same year as Joey and me and my mom started a new life without my dad in 1982, the same year this premiered on CBS,

So most of the tears was seeing myself and my mom in that opening clip lol
