Default What is your opinion on the match up of Ann and Sam

I think they were great together. I see the chemistry. I like her better with Sam better than I did with David and Nick.

IDK? Not sure yet. I do like Howard Hesseman though!

I always thought this was a terrible mistake. I guess they thought they could renew interest with the stunt casting of Mr. [Dr. Johnny Fever] Hesseman but it just seemed preposterous that Sam would have sired Barbara's vanilla spouse. Moreover, there seemed zero chemistry between the Royers and, for that matter between Sam and rest of his family and Mr. Hesseman seemed to walk through this as though it was strictly a steady paycheck and nothing more.
I don't know if Mr. Hesseman gets any royalties for having played a Royer but, if not, I'm sure he'd be happy for this role to be simply forgotten.

IMO, the best of all of Ann's men was Ed Cooper.

Well . I'll be watching! I'm sure he will have his moments to keep up with the drama of the show!

What I don't get is why they had to make Sam be Mark's Dad? They look nothing alike. Not that a son has to look just like his father, but still. Why didn't they just bring in Sam as a man that Ann had met at random?

Yes!! But our dear Annie girl wanted her "independence" so she left a good man and the Father of her daughters!

Wouldn't it have been cool if after 9 seasons the show went full circle and it turned out in the finale that Ann and Ed actually got back together again?

Like in the original Odd Couple series, where Felix remarried Gloria in the final episode.

I know. Ed was a good man!

Opus. Oh wow , I didn't know that happened on the Odd Couple. I never really watched that show much! But that's cool I guess? Did it seem like Felix and Gloria really were meant to be together?

So far the episodes Sam has been in I haven't liked him. The thought that he gets more annoying? Ugh. I didn't like Nick. The scary thing is Nick was almost a step up from Sam.

Even though David was pushy with his marriage proposals, I think he and Ann would have made a good married couple. If only David had given Ann more time, lol.

I don't think it would have worked with Ed, if they had tried again. I think he would have expected Ann to go back to how she was when they were married. Ann would have been miserable.

I thought it was nice how Schneider referred to Ann and Barbara as 'his family' in last night's episode (where he gets a new [temporary] job).

Sam was really nice in the Xmas episode. You think Venus Flytrap is springing for all those ship cabins?
