Default Question for the men? Would you get your hair permed if it came back in style?

I got my hair permed during the late 80's and thought for sure I was going to like it. I knew after it was over that I made a huge mistake and had it removed the next day.

No, because there are already some natural waves/curls in mine.

My hair is right about 11 inches long now. I know that sounds really long, but that's only when I pull it straight to measure. It's mostly at my shoulders. People outside of my immediate family have encouraged me to keep the length. I can recall only one time a lady wanted to give me directions to her husband's barber...!

I've always wanted, but never had, kind of a Robert Redford or JFK look -- you know, a definite part with plenty on top. At this point I'm just glad there isn't much grey (mostly at the temples).

IDK but I'm assuming Greg's hair was permed too like Mr. Brady's. And than when he used that hair tonic that Bobby sold him he ended up with an orange perm!! LOL!!!!

You may not believe this, but among Brady Bunch devotees, I think it's been pretty well established that Mr. Brady (Robert Reed) actually didn't get a perm.

Rather he's stated himself that his curly hair had always been under control with short styles. Sort of a struggle to make it look like it did, like on earlier series and early BB. When he did go with longer looks, the claim is that's his natural hair texture...!

Oh I know!! That has been an unsolved mystery that has been pondered for years. Did he or didn't he perm? And Greg too, it's possible he didn't perm , his always had a little curl to it. But when they just go natural and don't try to straighten it out that's what there hair would look like. Peter on the other hand, now I'm sure he did perm, because his got WAY frizzy and in the early seasons his hair was straight , maybe just a slight wave but his looked like a bad perm!! LOL!!!

The inspiration behind this thread was actually a discussion Penny Lane and I were having on the post any picture thread. She posted a pic of George Harrison in 1977, and it looks like his hair might be a perm!

Back to Mr. Brady, it was during the Hawaii trio eps. that his hair went from straight to curly. Once they hit Hawaii, there came the curls!!! Hawaii is humid and would bring out the curl or frizz to a persons hair! But a whole perm look IDK??? I'm still on the fence about this mystery!

Micky Dolenz sometimes had very straight hair and sometimes very curly? I am pretty sure he did NOT perm though!!

I liked his curly hair better!!

I'm far from being very Monkees knowledgeable, but I remember reading that they actually had Micky wearing a wig early on, giving him a straight look. Then they later made a definite change and let him appear on the series with his natural, curly hair. So you are correct.
