Oh No I didn't get my food assistance...what's going on?

I usually get my food stamps by the 1st of the month, but I tried to buy something and I swiped my food card, but it won't authorize. So I told her to cancel my purchase...and she seemed to have given me an attitude!

They said that my food assistance has went through, while some say it's pending...I don't need this now!

Did you call the toll free number? I had EBT ( food card) about 5 years ago for a while , and I always called to make sure my money was in before I tried to buy anything! WOW. I don't know what to tell you, it never happened to me! And if you didn't get any letter in the mail saying you don't qualify anymore or something, than it's a glitch in their system ! That s*cks!

Maybe the problem was at the store, maybe their machine for the cards was malfunctioning! I'm sorry , hope it gets worked out soon.

MrCleveland, I didn't know you were getting food stamps. How long have you been getting that? I hope you get your food stamps soon. You usually get them on the first of the month? How come you don't have a job?

They sent me tons of stuff in the mail all the time and I had to periodically go to the county office, and they made me do a little work like file papers or dust desks or something like that ! Funny thing was so many people were there, there wasn't even enough work for us all to do, so it was more like we just had to show up most of the time. IDK where your 2nd cousin lives or how it works in Ohio where Mr. Cleveland lives. But I KNOW for a fact they would send you a notice in the mail before just cutting you off !

I'm thinking Mr. Cleveland got it straightened out and received his food money because he didn't post anymore about it. I hope he did!

I did get everything straighten-out yet I have no Food Stamps.

Looks like I'll have to wait until August!

What did they say happened? That isn't cool, it's awful they made you skip a month. Maybe you'll get double the amount in August? IDK like I said that had never happened to me!

Funny and really goofy, is it has been at least five years since I no longer received them, and I STILL to this day periodically get letters from the county office telling me I no longer qualify ! It's like DUH!!!

That's how it is here in PA. I had to be re-evaluated for FS after 6 months but since I had found a job I didn't need to go back.

I remember having $50 left in FS and went to the seafood place and got $30 worth of food and dessert

I hope it got settled. I've never been on them but a friend was and she mentioned having to reapply every few months.

I did my "Re Applying" in June. I'm not expecting to get much (if any) since I FINALLY got a job in January. If it does get renewed I'll be letting the card accumulate money until the Thursday before Christmas. At this time a Grocery Store Chain (Publix) MARKS DOWN their Rib Roasts, and that's when I'll break out "My Little Friend" (the EBT Card) and go POSTAL on the Rib Roasts!!!

BACKUP PLAN (Which I'd rather do) - Save $100.00 a Month beginning in September, then do as I mentioned above. (at least two of the roasts are donated to the Salvation Army, along with a couple of Turkeys).

I got "The Letter" today from the Florida Department of Social Services. I will no longer get food stamps because of the money generated by my job. But THAT'S A GOOD THING! I'm one less person getting "Entitlements" at taxpayer expenses. I'll still plan to do my "Runt Hunt" in December, but this time I'll be using MY OWN MONEY!
