The characters of Sam, Diane, Lilith, Woody, Cliff, Norm, and Carla from Cheers all eventually appeared in episodes of it's spinoff Frasier. Lilith played by Bebe Neuwirth was on several episodes of Frasier since she was Frasier's ex-wife and mother to his son.

Detective John Munch played by Richard Belzer (the character originated on the crime drama Homicide: Life On The Street) would eventually show up in several other TV dramas, in fact there are so many I can't remember them all. The one's I do remember are Munch was on a crossover episode of the original Law And Order when Homicide was still on the air. And then the character eventually wound up on the Law And Order spinoff Law And Order: SVU for several seasons. But I know there are more than that I just can't remember them.

DeForest Kelley was on the premier episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation as Dr. Leonard McCoy the character he played on the original Star Trek.
Other actors who reprised their original Star Trek roles on TNG: James Doohan appeared in one episode as Montgomery "Scotty" Scott. Leonard Nimoy appeared in an episode (the second half of a 2 part episode actually) as his character the half-Vulcan half-human Spock. Mark Lenard appeared in one episode as Sarek. Sarek was Spock's full-blooded Vulcan father. He'd guest starred as Sarek on one episode of the original Star Trek also. Ed. |
