Priscilla Barnes' problem with the producers

Priscilla has said several times that her problem on 3'sC was the producers, and she had no problem with the actors. I've looked online, but I've never found it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Also, I've never seen anything where Priscilla and Suzanne have been together The closest was She's The Sheriff, where SS took PB's role, so they never appeared together. Have they ever done anything together?

There's no real reason for them to do anything together, is there? While a lot of people will associate Suzanne with TC, it's clear for Suzanne she's put that part of her life long behind her, and it's been behind her since 1981.

It's weird when you think about how these actors have their whole careers put out in public in front of them and the public decides what they want to remember these actors for. This is something an ordinary worker doesn't have to worry about.

I mean I think it would be weird if someone said to me "working at KFC was the best thing you ever did. Why did you quit that job back in 2002? You blew it."

The point is, Suzanne and Priscilla don't owe us anything. No actor really does. If Suzanne doesn't want to do anything with Priscilla because it brings back memories she'd rather leave behind her, then we should accept that.

I wasn't specifically asking about anythong 3'sC related, I meant in general. Besides, the part about PB and the producers was my main question; what you responded to was more of an afterthought.

In Chris Mann's book Come and Knock On Our Door, it is explained that the character of Terri was never very well-defined, and the writers didn't know what to do with her. Priscilla tried to make suggestions or improv stuff, but the producers were always vetoing her ideas. I don't think she ever truly felt like a part of the show because of her late arrival following all the ugliness with Suzanne. Joyce DeWitt has also said in interviews how the producers kept a short leash on the actors. After Suzanne left the way she did, they cracked down even more, and Priscilla really felt it. After the show ended, she told People Magazine, "I learned to do comedy on Three's Company. But I could never take the ball and run with it. It was always John's show."

Prisicilla also took acting classes during her run on Three's Company, because she didn't want TC to be the end of her career. She complained that once she was hired as Terri, other directors would not take her seriously as a dramatic actress.

It's a shame because she is beautiful and deserved more. I saw her in Mallrats and she was funny.

I just listened to a podcast interview with Chris Mann (author of the Three's Company book), and he said that Priscilla had a bad problem with the producers, and he said, "...one producer in particular." I wonder which one it was.

He also said that if the season finale had been done the right way (not just a launching of Three's A Crowd), and if the producers hadn't screwed over Joyce DeWitt and alienating her from TAC, he thinks Three's A Crowd would have succeeded.
