Default Blanche's Age

Was Blanche's real age ever revealed? If
so, what was it? I know that she has gone
by a few ages, but I don't recall her real age being known. Does anyone know?

Her age was never revealed. The closest anyone ever got to revealing it was in the episode called Snap Out of It.

In the episode, Rose plans a surprise birthday party for Blanche and to make sure she gets the right day she sends away for her birth records but when they arrive she finds that her birthdate was erased by the authority of the governor.

Later, Blanche agrees to tell Rose her age if Rose agrees to tell her her weight. They both lie.

Blanche's age will be forever a mystery. As it should be.

Oh Really? Well, Thanks. I always assumed and thought that Blance was 40!

I always thought Blanche was in her late
40's or early 50's. Thanks for the info!

Although her age was never really revealed, I remember this one scene that went something like this-----
(not exact wording!)

Blanche: For the first time in my life I feel like I'm over 40
Dorothy: Do you know why that is?
Blanche: Why?
Dorothy: Because you're over 50.

(hope I didn't mess that up too bad)

Then Blanche agrees and says something like "that's right, over 50 and over the hill...." or whatever.

Dorothy had mentioned once that she was 55 in the first season and I guess Blanche has always been the youngest of the four.

Actually, Blanche's age WAS once revealed. In the Mother's Day episode, Blanche's mother is telling a story... it was stated that Blanche was 17 in 1949, making her born in '32.

Thanks, RueMclanahanFan---that's really interesting!

Also makes perfect sense, since I'd always thought she was in her early 50s. I mean, she doesn't look young enough to be in her 40s, but not old enough for 60s, either.
