Lifetime Greenlights Unauthorized "Beverly Hills, 90210" Tell-All Movie

It's time to go back to West Beverly High! Lifetime has greenlit The Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 Story, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Following in the footsteps of 2014's Saved By the Bell pic and the upcoming Full House movie, the project will show the roller coaster ride of the teen soap's first four seasons, particularly the drama between cast members and producers both on and off-set.

The movie will also shed light on the show's several near-cancelations and its subsequent rise to ratings hit and pop culture phenomenon. An airdate has yet to be determined.

Jeff Roda (Love Liza) will pen the script, which will be directed by Vanessa Parise (PopFan). Peter M. Green (Mean Girls 2) and Howard Braunstein (The Informant!) will exec produce and Christian Bruyere (A Girl’s Best Friend) will produce.

Although The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story fizzled on Labor Day 2014, Lifetime appears to believe in the format, having already announced a Full House tell-all back in April.

"Beverly Hills, 90210" ran for 10 seasons on Fox and went on to become one of the network's signature series. The show went onto make household names out of stars Jason Priestley, Luke Perry, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green and Shannen Doherty, who famously left the show after season four after rumored tensions behind the scenes.

The CW launched a reboot simply titled "90210" in 2008, which saw Garth, Doherty and Spelling reprise their roles. The show was canceled after five seasons.

The "Beverly Hills, 90210" project comes just a few months ahead of the series' 25th anniversary.
