Oh No Indiana Wal-Mart Fight...What Do You Think?

Beech Grove Wal-Mart fight: New video shows bystanders watching

BEECH GROVE, Ind. -- New video has surfaced online of a fight involving two women and a 6-year-old child at a central Indiana Wal-Mart.

The first video RTV6 showed you Monday night has now been seen by more than five and a half million people. The new video posted to YouTube by a second witness shows the brawl from a different angle.

The two women can clearly be seen biting, slapping and punching each other during the fight last Thursday night. One woman even puts the other in a headlock in the middle of the shampoo aisle.

One of the women who has identified herself as Amber Stephenson and the mother of the child, told WZPL’s Smiley Morning Show on Tuesday morning the fight started after she stepped in to defend a Wal-Mart employee.

The child can clearly be seen yelling, kicking and throwing objects at the second woman, Rebecca Mills, while she is pinned on the ground. At one point, Stephenson tells the child to punch the other woman.

During the radio interview , Stephenson said her son is a straight-A student and "has been raised perfectly right."

The second video that surfaced Wednesday also shows several onlookers watching as the fight takes place. At one point, it looks like a man is going to intervene, but he eventually backs up and continues to watch.

RTV6 asked a legal expert what bystanders should really do in a similar situation.

Attorney Jack Crawford said while you might want to help, the best thing a bystander can do is to stay back.

"Everybody wants to be a good Samaritan when they see somebody being injured in a struggle, and you want to intervene and protect the party that appears to be losing. Once you take it upon yourself to involve yourself in this fight, then you have civil liability for any injuries received either by the victim or by the attacker," Crawford explained.

Neither woman has been arrested and no charges have been filed, but the case remains under investigation by the Marion County prosecutor.
These women aren't allowed in that Wal-Mart anymore, I think they should NEVER be in another Wal-mart again! That kid who kicked the other woman shouldn't do that! But he's one of those "I can do whatever I want to do, mommy said so"! And the woman who was on a scooter should get off of those and start exercising!

Where has society gone now?
