matlock stunk after it moved from nbc to abc and the new writers and producers tried to turn it into a mayberry clone by adding a whole bunch of wacky friends for ben/andy to deal with

No, Family Matters was ruined after they added Steve Urkel as a regular character in every episode.

When TAXI went to NBC the last season. Should have been a good fit there, with the other NBC comedies of that era like Cheers, but it only lasted one more year. Why is beyond me, one of the best shows of all time.

The Game (UPN/CW to BET), though the fact that it was cancelled before being resurrected couple years later is partially to blame as well.
