Think some of our laws in america are weird? Take a look at these 22 crazier Laws around the world, not excluding a New York law that I have personally broke, but have not been fined for.

Actually the laws don't look that wacky. Many look to be friendly cheerful things you shouldn't do. I can see no gum chewing for people do throw their gum and some poor soul steps in it. Its nice to visit family. Car honking does do damage to your ears. But in this day and age, how do you get someone's attention. Smelly fruit in subways. Who wants that. Oh how do you operate a cow. Milk it??
Nice to read the article. |

Not bad, but it'd suck if I had to take a **** in Switzerland after 10 p.m....
I heard that it's also illegal to sneeze in church in Omaha! |

some of those aren't too crazy, they just seem that way out of context. There is a law in ohio that "prohibits women from wearing patent leather shoes in public. The reason? Shiny footwear could afford a nearby gentleman an unintentional peep show. "
I love some of the ones here: https://www.legalzoom.com/articles/t...l-on-the-books - in rural parts of Pennsylvania, state law requires that you stop every mile to send up a rocket signal when driving at night - in Missouri you can't drive down the highway with an uncaged bear in your car - in Farmington, Connecticut, cows have the same rights on the roads as motorists - parking your elephant at a meter in Orlando Florida, you must deposit the same amount of change as you would for a regular motor vehicle - in North Dakota, it's against the law to serve beer and pretzels at the same time from the list in the original link, #16 it makes sense to outlaw killing Sasquatch, because a) it would probably be endangered if it did exist, and b) it makes it easier to charge yahoos with guns with a crime for randomly shooting trees in the woods while chasing bigfoots. #14 feeding pigeons makes more show up and they are a destructive nuisance to pretty much everything #8 Canadian content laws have been on the books for a long time to protect and promote local culture, but also to protect the CBC. What is crazy is that Bryan Adams is not considered allowable under the content laws because his no Canadians other than himself are involved in the writing, performing or recording of his music. most of the other ones are somewhat logical |

I knew about the law against running out of gas on the Autobahn, as I travelled on it during a bus trip to Paris fifteen years ago. And I have also heard about the law against chewing gum in Singapore, and the one against dying in the houses of Parlament in the UK. But they forgot about the law that it's legal to kill a Scotsman within the city of York if he carries a longbow, and that a pregnant woman in the UK is supposedly allowed to pee in a policeman's helmet!

Michigan has a law where it's illegal to chain an alligator to a fire hydrant.
The only reason I can figure for making a law that weird is there must have been someone who was doing this.
