Default Charlie Brown and Dolly Madison

I'm just wondering if anyone remembers when Dolly Madison snack cakes used to sponsor Charlie Brown cartoons? It seems that this would have been in the late 70s or early 80s. I would love to have a cartoon with the commercials from Dolly Madison, or anything related between the two. Does anyone else remember this? I was very young when these came out, but I remember asking for Dolly Madison stuff because it was related to Snoopy.

I grew up during the 70s and they were definately the sponsor for the various Charlie Brown specials at that particular time.

However, I believe that they started their sponsorship around the late 60s time frame. I certainly remember the Dolly Madison comericals from the early 70s.

I remember Dolly Madison. They sometimes co-sponsored the "Peanuts" specials, with "our good friends at Peter Paul/Cadbury". I even saw some Dolly Madison Zingers in the supermarket a few years ago, before they were bought by Hostess.

Not only did Dolly Madison sponsored Charlie Brown specials but the Peanuts gang themselves also appeared on packages/ supermarket displays of Dolly Madison cakes ( Zingers, Gems, ect..). I remember when we had Safeway here and they had some kind of promotion tie in with Dolly Madison and the entire store was full of these huge pics and life size Peanuts characters. They even had Snoopy's Dog House and Lucy's booth.

Coke was another long time sponsor of Peanuts.

Those were the days!!!

I believe it would be difficult to have Coke, a snack cake, and candy sponsor a show like Peanuts today without getting someones dander up, with so many of these products coming under fire with their lack of "nutrition" value.

Difficult but not impossible.

I'd love to find some Dolly Madison/Peanuts videos or something. It would be great to see those commercials again.
