The real Colonel Sanders passed away in 1980. This is even worse than those cartoon Colonel Sanders KFC commercials from the early 2000's. Couldn't his family sue for this? I don't know anything about his family, but I think it's disgraceful if they're really okay with this.

I agree...the new commercial is horrible. If they wanted to use his likeness they should've just used an old commercial.
I don't eat KFC and it still upsets me when companies pull these stunts. |

Darrell Hammond must be desperate for money.

These commercials ARE pretty corny. The second one seemed in pretty poor taste.
But what I don't like is the CGI-style Colonel illustration on the bucket. It's too generic, like a lot of things are these days. |

Cuz someone would want to see his hologram sing a duet with Tupak's at Coachella next year? LOL! I don't think the reimaging is disrespectful in this case. If you put your face on your product (bucket of chicken) you are a logo/trademark. If the original Colonel's family are still around, and if they have any connection to the business, they probably okayed the usage. I will admit that Darrell Hammond's Colonel was a little on the creepy side, and would not have made me want to eat at KFC. Then again, I prefer Popeye's.

Anyone remember Pioneer Chicken? I sure miss them. They had the best broasted chicken u could buy. I preferred them over KFC. And by the way, KFC wouldn't be in business today if it had not been for Dave Thomas the founder of Wendy's who saved the company.

The new spokesman really goes over the top with his southern drawl and that corny song he sings. It makes you wanna go to Bojangles or Church's chicken instead.

I think I remember a clip in the late 70's of Colonel Harlan Sanders pitching locally for the KFCs in the Seattle area. |
