Default This is why I hate dating with a passion

Went on a date friday with a girl and met up for ice cream. We met on a dating site and talk a walk along the waterfront and talked. Then she suggested we have pizza and then walked and talked some more. Then she suggested we sit in her car and talk for a hour.

After the date she calls me when she arrived home saying she had a good time. I texted her sunday and she asked how my weekend was going. Then last night she sends a text asking was I still up? I was like Yes

When she called me she said she didn't feel a romantic spark but is interested in being friends with me

LOL

Ask her if she's interested in being a friend with benefits, I mean you both had a good time so the ice has been broken.

Sorry to hear that Sol. But sometimes the spark isnt there it isnt there. I'd be glad to know now before I commit myself any longer. If that happens, then what do you do? What happened if she said that after you guys moved in together? Or got engaged? You'd be screwed. I tip my hat to you though because you found somebody on a dating site. Not me. I think dating sites has some crazy people on there. But you can say that for people you know in general.

I have dated more than my share of women thru dating sites over the years. I have had much success because from the beginning of any communication we have, I tell them what I am looking for from a woman and they tell me what it is they expect. If we don't agree right from the start - we move on. I don't waste time with women that are looking for a "friend". I can be friendly, but I will not allow myself to be pigeon-holed into the friend zone when I want something else entirely. I get it right - FROM THE START.

Yeah, but dont you think a relationship needs time to build? I mean isn't there a chance that if your friends first, you can become a couple? I've never understood why when you want to date your friend and then when you tell that to them, they say "I'd rather be friends." Ok, then but why does the friendship have to be over as well?

You guys are disgusting! Friends with benefits? Are we cave men? That is no way to have a relationship.

Oh No

I'm more like I can't find a woman in my life, I feel like a chick-repellent!

I can talk to someone, but I have no car and not much money...I guess I'll find love when The Browns go to the Super Bowl!

Having sex with a friend is one of the fastest and surest ways to end a friendship. You are NOT supposed to have sex with a good, trusted friend because that's NOT what friends are for. A man is better off seeking a woman that is seeking a man to have sex with. You can't change the goal halfway into the hunt. Stay the way you started and you will avoid mixed signals and misunderstandings. For a more accurate example of what I mean check out a show on cable called "Friendzone". Every week they showcase two people that have been real-life friends for YEARS - and how ONE Of them makes the move to become "more than friends." Needless to say this consistantly results in REJECTION, EMBARASSMENT, HEARTBREAK, TEARS and quite soon after that - the end of a YEARS-LONG Friendship that could have gone on INDEFINITELY.

I kind of disagree. I still dont understand why its all or nothing. I dont what the big deal is. I'd rather have that person, friend or girlfriend, in my life than to not have that person in my life at all. I would think in some cases, true friends will overcome it if one of them wants to be more than friends.

That's what I decided to do, be friends with her so she can help me with future women

So whenever i have a date with someone attractive I will be asking her advice

Yeah, but sometimes, when you ask a friend whose a girl advice on another girl, the girl that helping you could develop feelings for you. That does happen sometimes.

She is already giving mixed signals saying she is looking forward to talking to me later

That's not platonic talk. Lol
