Confused If there was a new "Facts of Life"...

As we now see a lot of sitcoms going through a 2nd generation like "Girl Meets World" and "Fuller House"...what would "The Facts of Life" regenerate as?...

All I can think of is "More Facts of Life", with one of the four actresses in the lead role, giving advice to a new generation of girls...maybe the school becomes co-ed and talks about life in college...

How would you think it would go?

I would watch it. I think Lisa or Mindy would do it. I don't think Nancy would.
Kim might do it.

I agree, either Lisa or Mindy would be the most likely candidates to do it and probably would. Nancy I think has since moved on in a different direction with her acting. Kim is another one who has since moved on but she would be more likely to make cameo guests appearances. I don't think she would sign on to do an entire new Facts of Life series again though.
But it would be nice though if they did do a reboot.
Blair running Eastland as the new headmaster would be the first premise that comes to my mind. Perhaps Natalie could teach writing or Literature there as a professor.
I could see it happening. LOL

I don't think Mindy would do it. Based on interviews with her, she seems like her philosophy about it is "You know what? We did it, it's great, I loved it, but I've moved on. " Maybe she would do it, but that's just the impression I get from her. After all, right now she doesn't even want to talk about the show anymore (there was a big nostalgic look-back article on the show online last year and Kim and Mindy neglected to take part, with Mindy explaining she felt she's said everything she could possibly say about the show, and there's nothing new she can add).

I can see Blair being on a revamp of "The Facts of Life" called "More Facts of Life". Her character has the money to take over the school she went to.

The pilot would be Blair meeting-up with four girls who came to the Eastland School and now it's co-ed! So there'd be four boys as well on "More Facts of Life"!

I like the idea of a continuation of this show. And yeah I think one of the girls could jump into the Mrs. Garrett role, with a twist that it's a co-ed school this time.

Either that or follow the kid Blair/Tad wanted to have in the reunion movie to Eastland. Maybe Natalie, Tootie, Jo or one of the girls that got cut ended up having a kid around the same time.

In recent interviews Lisa has talked about wanting to do another sitcom. With all of the reboots happening right now, this would be a great time to do it. I would start the show out the same way Season 2 began, focusing on just four girls at Eastland with Lisa in a Mrs. Garrett type of role. It would be cool if Lisa's daughter Clancy had some sort of role in the series as well. Charlotte, Kim, Nancy , and Mindy could make occasional guest appearances.

Mrs. Garrett could do a cameo appearance.

Why is Hollywood qualified to "give advice" to anyone?

I could see this happening, but they'd have to include events from the reunion movie.

Blair would most likely have a kid who's probably in Eastland now. Same with Natalie. Tootie...eh. She had Teesha, but she's an adult now. Jo had her daughter but she's also an adult now as well.

Blair/Natalie would be PERFECT for the new series. Mrs. G could appear as long as Charlotte Rae is still in good health and up to doing it. It would probably be called "More Facts Of Life" or "New Facts Of Life".

In the Pilot we find out that in late 2001, Blair re-bought Eastland and became HeadMistress again. She gave birth shortly after to her daughter. Natalie also married that guy and they had a kid together as well. They both are students there. Natalie is an English teacher at Eastland now. Tootie went back to Movies/Film after Keesha finished Eastland. She married that guy who partnered with her to keep the Peekskill playhouse open.

I think something along those lines will probably work best, but they'd have to do it fast. I can't see the girls back at Eastland for no reason at all. Blair, if she has a kid, they'd be there by now.

Thumbs up

I love the ideas...and since I heard Blair is a alumni at Eastland School, her family would be committed with the school that there's a new wing called the Blair Warner Building and if we do lose Charlotte Rae before "The New Facts of Life" does get launched...the building that the girls were living should be dedicated to Edna Garrett.
