Have you ever played or got invloved with any of the old Nick contests?
I remember the one where Nick ( well Nickelodeon ) takes over your school. Teachers were forced to take a test of somekind, get slimed, fun and games for the kids plus a rock band to perform at your school. Somebody told me once that N'Sync before they became famous actually played at a school who won this contest. I also remember Nick @ Nite's create your own sitcom contest using real life situations . The winners chosen would have their sitcoms air on Nick@Nite. As I recall 2 of the winners included a story about a daughter in her 30s living with 2 roomates- her mother and father, though her parents were divorced. Then there was "Brits & Grits", story of "Reggie" who was an Englishman who worked as a sheriff's deputy in a county/city down south somewhere. Kinda like a combination of the Dukes of Hazzard with Benny Hill. Really funny !!! My neighbors at the time actually sent Nick their own sitcom about a 19 year old cigar smoking, tattooed, heavy metal listening, long haired, skateboarder who delivers the mail. Guess the folks at Nickelodeon didnt think such a person working for the post office was "unusual" as they didnt win, not even got a reply. |

Oh, yeah! Nick takes over your school... I remember that one! I always kept thinking that it'd be great if my teachers got slimed or something... <sigh> I never sent in a postcard or anything, and now it's too late... does anyone remember the Super Toy Run or something like that?

I remember that Toy run thing. Wasn't it where you had 5 minutes to go through Toys R Us and collect anything you could? I have ALWAYS wanted to do that! I was on a game show that Nick was doing to see if it would work on TV, but they never aired it!
I WON, TOO!!

I remember many kids when I was in high school that was into cigar smoking, had long hair and were skaters. In I believe it was the skateboard crowd that made cigars popular ( mainly because one could hide pot into a blunt and smoke it )just before generation x stars did it. about the contests..... Nick did one featuring.....( blast from the past ) Yahoo Serious !!! whatever happen to him? |
