Default Grit & Escape TV channels

Does anyone get these channels? They are sub-channels available OTA, but some cable companies are adding them to their line-up. Grit is geared to men; Escape to women and their schedules seem to be heavy on films. I have FIOS which has added it in some areas, but not ours, at least not yet. I think they are under the same ownership as Me-TV.

I'm not getting too excited about them yet. Was looking forward to Laff and that has been a real bust. I don't even stop to see what's on because it has consistently been underwhelming. Those who love Ellen, Drew and Grace (I like them well enough, but they're always on) are loving it I guess. And we in Philly still have the Mummer's channel too. I am still trying to figure out that one.

we get Grit on Time Warner, it is completely worthless - just really old movies no-one's never heard of and infomercials.

Bull****. Complete, uncut versions of The Rookies (seasons 3 & 4 are not on DVD) and Laramie (seasons 3 & 4 were released in cut versions sourced from 3rd generation VHS tapes.) Also, Zane Grey Theatre (seasons 4 & 5 not on DVD).

I discovered about four or five weeks ago I was getting "Grit-tv." But the picture seems to be coming in vertically squeezed on my old fullscreen tv-set. Looks peculiar. And rather offputting. I checked their schedule once and I thought I saw where they were running "The Outsider," the detective series with Darren McGavin, but I have't noticed it since. Maybe it was just a pilot movie of it that was shown. Or maybe something else with the same title. I don't know.

"Laramie" is a good, old-fashioned, and unpretentious western. I'm glad to see it's apparently been re-mastered. And always a pleasant and unexpected surprise to see ANY vintage Universal property re-mastered, for that matter.

difference of opinion; one man's treasure is another man's trash

i've looked through their entire schedule each week and there has never been anything of interest to me.

I enjoy watching the Rookies on Grit. I hope they will add another long-lost action series (perhaps Police Woman) instead of airing Laramie 3 times a day.

One of the retro networks, can't remember which, I saw Death Valley Days from 1965. Had never seen that show and at the end was Ronald Reagan. Good Lord 50 years ago has gone fast.

Thanks, everyone. I will give them a look if we ever get them. I know we will be getting Buzzr TV soon, but that will be game shows old and new. It's replacing Bounce in my area.
