I never really liked when the credits read that way. It looked weird that way. It would be like if in real life she had been billed as Valerie Van Halen.

I never cared that it read as Barbara Royer because I prefer that to Valerie Van Halen. That is a stupid name so I am glad she kept her name.

For me, I was just talking about how the credits changed from Barbara Cooper to Barbara Royer. I said that if it happened in real life, it would have went from Valerie Bertinelli to Valerie Van Halen.

Is this in later seasons or something? Because so far on the Antenna-TV run, there are no character credits except for Schneider.

Not sure when she first started getting that billing but it might have been after Mack left.

Yup, comes later. And of course, the Cooper/Royer change comes (do we need spoiler warnings for a 30 year old show?) after the marriage.

LOL!! Yeah it's funny she always was Valerie Bertinelli, I never heard her referred to as Valerie Van Halen when her and Eddie were married! Well same with Lucy and most actresses. She was always Lucille Ball, not Lucille Arnaz!

I noticed that last week and couldn't figure out what was going on. I thought that the girls kept their fathers last name or something.

Unlike her mother she kept her husband's name.

Ann made such a big deal of not taking Sam's name at the wedding ceremony for whatever reason.
