Default The King of 8

In the recent past, I have made 7 attempts to stimulate some conversation about this fine series. So far, no success! But I am trying very hard not to give up! Because this is my 8th attempt to get things started, I would like to tell you guys about something that I think about when I think about the number 8. In the very early seventies, there was a "Sesame Street" routine called the "King of 8". This was very often shown when 8 was the number that was being taught about that day. I remember seeing it a bunch of times when I was of "Sesame Street" age. If anyone here is curious as to what I am writing about, this skit has been uploaded onto You Tube at least once. In any event, I think that it is very fitting to write about it on a board like this. "Gimme a Break!" was a very popular show of Generation X. This "Sesame Street" routine was on when many Generation Xers were of "Sesame Street" age.

You remind me of Rose Nylund from the Golden Girls.... with her endless stories about St. Olaf.... one difference though.... at least Rose always told different stories instead of repeating herself.

That is a very interesting comparison. However, like a lot of things on the "Golden Girls", some of Rose's stories contradicted each other. I would say that the "Golden Girls" was very close behind the "Flintstones" in terms of inconsistencies from episode to episode. There were also occasional cases in which different episodes of "Gimme a Break!" contradicted each other.

Less than half an hour ago, I started a new thread on this page. During the brief period since I wrote it, I went to some other sites to see what I could see, practiced my typing skills and then came back. I see that, during the time that I was gone, my thread accumulated eight views and zero replies. Because the number eight is in the title of this thread, I decided to bring it to the top of the page as a way of celebrating the fact that my last thread obtained eight views in less than half an hour.
