Number of Seasons

In the recent past, I have made five attempts to stimulate some conversation about this fine series. So far, I have not had any success. In any event, here comes attempt number six! In the past, I have symbolized the number six by mentioning that, on "Sesame Street" Bert's favorite number is six. There was a Bert and Ernie routine about that in the mid-seventies. Now, I would like to try something different. This particular show ran for six seasons. However, the last season, was pretty much, a joke in its own time. Like with many shows, the network does not want to accept that they have gotten what they can out of the series and it is time to move on. I remember a lot of shows in which the later seasons were very watered down and it was clear that it was time to throw in the towel. Such shows include, "All in the Family", the "Jeffersons" and "Three's Company". However, in my opinion, the last season of "Gimme a Break!" was one of the poorest attempts to keep a has-been show alive. Any thoughts anyone?
