Default I like Bob's father a lot better than Barbara and Julie's Father lol

Ed was just too old and stiff for me and I really hated all the scenes he was in during the show. He came off as a "ANCHOR" for CBS NEWS since he was always wearing a suit and had that deep voice. lol

Bob's dad was funny and came off more like a dad instead of some old stiff who reports the news lol

Ed looked like "Dan Rather's Uncle"

That is William Schallert who p;layed Bob's father. He played the father on the Patty Duke show. He is a nice man!

I can tell he was on previous shows because it wasn't no arkward acting like it was with the guy who played Ed

Me too!!! and Joe Campanella was a good actor , he guest starred on lots of shows. I think he did more drama than comedy.

William Schallert was a good actor too, had more comedy roles I think.

That is a two parter I guess? Probably about Ed having a drinking problem. Maybe that is where a lot of his money is going to!

I never knew William Schallert was on ODAAT, but I'm not surprised because he's been in about everything. And my gosh, I thought he died a few years ago. But I just looked him up and he's still alive, 92 years old now AND STILL ACTING ON TELEVISION! He appeared on Two Broke Girls last year. He's up there with Betty White for longevity, with his television career going back to the '50s. Speaking of which, Bonniegirl, don't forget this Sunday night on CBS! "The TIME has come." I'll be setting my DVR for sure.
