Default Antenna TV is having another stupid movie marathon on Memorial Day

I've been on their website and seen the schedule. Just a bunch of dumb movies I care nothing about. I certainly won't be watching that day. Not happy I have to miss The Jeffersons because of some stupid movies.

Yup, it's war movies (It IS Memorial Day, which has been set aside to honor those who gave their lives serving in our armed forces).

Yeah I know, I didn't mean any disrespect . God bless the men who have fought for this country, even though most of the wars shouldn't have even happened. That is my point more, and a whole day of war movies is not my bag!

Yeah, they should cancel Memorial Day so people won't have to miss a rerun of a TV show.

Those in the picnic industry would LOVE that, being Memorial Day is one of the biggest picnic days of the year (along with Independence Day and Labor Day)!

Another way that both Antenna TV and ME-TV could have honored Memorial Day is to fill the entire schedule with war-related sitcoms and dramas:

Hogan's Heroes
F Troop
Mash
Phil Silvers Show
McHale's Navy
Gomer Pyle USMC

Combat!
Baa Baa Black Sheep

I like the sitcom idea, I think Antennatv did that either in 2013 or 2012.

I actually like McHales Navy and Gomer Pyle ! ( Wish Antenna or METV would start showing Gomer)!

Precisely. Antenna 's marathon is totally apropos. I think many folks lose perspective of what this day represents; not that they mean to, but we're so conditioned to being "entertained" esp. by a channel like Antenna. I personally think war-type sitcoms really don't fit - this is supposed to be a solemn day of remembrance-at least in theory.

If this one day of non "entertainment" is unacceptable to someone there are other options - You Tube eps, DVDs - or maybe just going outside and doing something with a loved one - esp. One who is a vet.

Nobody is going to die by a one day marathon of movies; however MANY have died or been maimed for the many freedoms we routinely take for granted.

I revere our vets; sign me a pat. too!

I wonder what Antenna has planned for Fathers day? Didn't they have a Father Knows best Marathon last year?

I wonder as well and think it was FKB last yr. But based on their past track record, it will be something good. Unfortunately, no matter what they do, someone will take issue with it.

As for me, I love Antenna TV. Are they perfect? No, but still pretty darn good, esp. for a free station.

I'd like Antenna to mix it up on Fathers day. Give all the TV Dad's Antenna features a chance. Like randomly playing eps of Leave it to Beaver, Dennis the menace, Father knows best, Mr. Belvedere, Patty Duke Show etc. All the Antenna shows that have Dad's.
