Default Can someone explain the ending of "Barbara The Fink"?

The guy who shows up acting crazy and saying

"Barbara, Son, Momma Son, Julie Son, and Super Son"

What the hell was he doing?

No

That's why I was confused, I must have missed something. I know Barbara was dressed like she was Japenese in the beginning of the episode but I am not sure what the guy was doing the end

That must be the reason. Japanese address one another with "san" at the end of the person's name. This guy saw Barbara dressed in a kimono, so he's assuming Barbara and her family are Japanese and addressing them accordingly.

He was just being silly, cause Barbara was in the kimono for a school play or something! It was comedic relief to show all was good and there wasn't hard feelings towards Barbara!

That dude was a recurring character who had been seen on the show. He was Julie's occasional boyfriend then when Julie started dating that doctor/vet, she pawned him off on Barbara.

I see he was a recurring character on Happy days and a regular on the short-lived Joanie Loves Chachi

That was the first funny scene I saw since I been watching this show and it took 3 seasons LOL

I plan to watch the ending of that episode again before I go to bed. I don't know what was funnier

1. The guy acting Japenese

OR

2. The reactions from Ann, Julie, and Schneider

LOL

When was he seen before? lol I've been watching the run since the pilot on Antenna-TV and I don't remember him at all.

I know how you feel, lol, this show is such a dramedy that it was jarring in "The Dress Designer" and "Barbara the Fink" to see this sitcom actually be a---sitcom! lol

Speaking of that, as dramatic as this show loves to be, I couldn't believe they played Miss Loring's vandalism victimization as comedy! Yes Alice Ghostley is a brilliant comedic actress, but it was just strange hearing the audience laughing at her realizing what happened to her.

He was the guy who had a date with Julie to go bowling, and she had to break it because she was going on that trip with the vet. Her boss that later became her older man boyfriend. Julie asked Barbara to go bowling with him in her place.

He was also in the ep. where Grampa Romano was visiting. He was the guy who had the date with Barbara.

I take it he was a family friend type that the girls both went out with if they didn't have other dates. And that is why they didn't care that Eileen (Barbara's friend from the fink ) brought him to the party as a date.

He did another episode before the vet episode. Ed was upset that Julie was dating him because he was strange and was upset that Ann allowed her to go on the date. It was during season two when he first debuted.
