Default The woman who played "annoying melody" was a horrible actress

The girl who wanted to follow Barbara around and be her friend, that character was just weird. lol The term OVER ACTING came to mind when watching this episode. I wonder was this her first acting job because this episode was just hard to watch

Nope, she had been acting for several years by the time she appeared in that episode.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0428674/?ref_=tt_cl_t5

I saw the first part last night and felt like I did years ago when I thought the episode was about to wrap up, but then some abrupt and unexpected plot change would happen, and the words "to be continued" would pop up on the screen. My eyes would roll, I'd sigh and think to myself, "Sheesh, not another multi-part soaper!" So I just turned off the TV and went for a long walk. I trust that Melanie didn't go through with her suicide.

I didn't feel that way at all! I thought the actress played the part well! Melanie was obviously mentally ill! Most likely Bi Polar! It was sad all around. Melanie had problems, her parents didn't listen or understand. Barbara got caught up in it. She was a nice person, but only being 15 or 16 she didn't understand, and Melanie was very aggressive and begging for her friendship because of the mental illness! Well you all know the rest !

As for Barbara's date Cliff who wanted to go out with Barbara even if he thought Melanie was dead. Cliff wasn't real bright, and he thought Melanie was Barbara's pet turtle! He was oblivious to what was going on and he really thought Barbara's pet turtle died!

It was very nice how Ann and Barbara were at the hospital in support of Melanie. Julie and Schneider too were very supportive ! Julie was really concerned as was Schneider who got on his CB to try to locate the hotel Melanie was at!

LOL!!! Yeah well the boy wasn't bright! It was obvious something really bad was going on, and I think first he thought Melanie was Barbara's goldfish, than somehow he came to a conclusion that Melanie was a turtle!

It brought comedic relief to a deep situation! Cliff was so stupid that even though a girl was in the midst of suicide, the show stayed funny because he was stupid (and cute too, being cute he could get away with this) ) going on about how he thought Melanie was Barbara's pet turtle who died!

I loved how Julie stuck up for her sister against Melanie's mother. That was cool and she went off on her like that in classic Julie style. The actress that played Melanie was very good. I felt sorry for her.

Thomas, I noticed that and loved that moment too. Also, Valerie's acting on her end of the phone call at the end of part I was absolutely wonderful.

I wanted to smack the **** out of her mother. The only thing she seemed to be concerned with was the neighbors finding out (god forbid!). Glad that the doctor didn't tippy-toe around it and came right out and said what he did.

Poor Melanie had mental issues that weren't being addressed by her parents. Esp her mother who was in denial and very shallow caring about "what people would think" if she had a child that had mental problems more than she cared about her daughters state of mind!

I agree on slapping the Sh*t out of the mother!!!

The last cycle I didn't start obsessing till seasons 5-9. This time I'm doing 1-4. So when all the networks fall seasons begin, JEOPARDY comes back, and football, and baseball playoffs, and hockey start, and I get way too busy or they dump the show, I should be all caught up here.
