Default Correct me if I'm wrong......

But in the episode where Barbara makes it seems like she has a "reputation" and that guy Cliff tries to take her to her bedroom....

is that the same Cliff she's been pining over in recent episodes?

No and it's not even the same guy. The guy in the episode where Barbara pretends to be on the pill is a guy named Hank.

There have been no recent episodes since the show went off the air in 1984

The poster means the recent eps that have aired on Antenna TV. Watch with us or watch your unedited eps with the same titles that air so you can discuss with us whether you've seen them before or not as its fun to relive the moments of the show. We got us an Oprah book club going. LOL.

I was just joking no hard feelings. I don't really watch the Antenna TV episodes so I haven't been able to keep up with which episodes they are airing at the moment.

I believe they just started in season 3. I heard someone discussing the episodes where Julie was dating an older man.

I am semi enjoying the intense activity on the "DOA" for years "ODAAT" board and all the "newbie" questions......I suggest as one poster wrote enjoy them together as they ALL air for the first time nationally in many a year on Antenna TV.

I might write an extensive historical essay on the 9 year history of the series which would answer many of the questions that have been asked, but don't want to be met with any negative or what I would consider silly replies.

I am a "semi retired television producer" age 52 and watched every episode originally, then on cbs daytime reruns, syndication. Also have many first run CBS episodes from my self recorded VHS masters including the finale. Also have some set memorabilia and have worked with Valerie and Pat during my career. Got my first VCR in 1980 for $800 and VHS tapes were $20 each!

A few FYI's: Watch or find the CBS 2/22/05 one hour retrospective clip reunion special, plus/or the wealth of material that surrounded the promotion of that special which included the principle three (Val, Mack & sadly now the late Bonnie) appearing on Good Day Live, Extra, Entertainment Tonight, Showbiz Tonight, Regis & Kelly, The Early Show & Tony Danza. At least those are the "extras" on my compiled DVD.

For viewers with special interest on the work of Norman Lear I suggest the printed book "The Sitcoms Of Norman Lear" by Sean Campbell published in 2007 by McFarland. (Yes I have a acknowledgment re: ODAAT) but the well written softcover has a chapter on all the major Lear sitcoms.

Lastly to stay on topic of this thead a btw, Valerie's first serious boyfriend was the actor who portrayed the character of "Cliff Randall" years before Mr Van Halen!

Keep watching, enjoy and see how the show evolved from season to season with constant cast changes, behind the scenes Bonnie's original told and vision vanished as she chose to end the series after the 9 years with anger that her character was now married.

Plus search out the numerous Mackenzie Phillips specials like the E! True Hollywood Story, Truth Behind the Sitcoms, Valerie Bertinelli's "Biography" episodes. All of course heavily feature interviews with cast and crew and the turmoil that truly was handled "One Day At A Time"!

Yeah. It started this week. We were discussing how Julie was handful with her actions and hooking up with a man older than her mother. LOL.

^^^ Cliff was very cute. The guy who actually tried to take Barbara to her bedroom (Hank) was goofy looking IMO.
There were a lot of cute boys on One Day At A Time. There was Bob Morton,.... and the boy who had a crush on Ann (Robbie Benson), Schneider's nephew, that guy Chuck who was Julie's boyfriend and of course the hottest was the man who played Ed Cooper (Joseph Campanella)

I missed Schneider's nephew episode! And for some reason I'm not picturing Hank! I saw that ep I think?

And one who I didn't find attractive was Julie's older man, the veterinarian ! He didn't do a thing for me. Maybe they should have casted a better looking older man in that part? Plus for being a veterinarian , he didn't seem all that bright really! And that's not cute being that he was a doctor (for animals) still a person should seem intelligent regardless a human doctor or an animal doctor. With Cliff it was different, he was dumb as a rock which was cute , because he was a kid !
