Default Julie's scenes edited out of a few season 9 episodes for syndication

I recently heard that some episodes show her in the credits but she does not appear in the episodes.

I can confirm at least 2 times where she appears in an episode that people say she wasn't in because of the edits they do for commercials in syndication.

It makes no sense for them not to at least show a couple of seconds of her scenes if she is in the credits. They should edit elsewhere just because there is a mystery as to how many episodes she appeared in for the 9th season because of this.

I am checking out season 9 episodes this week and will make a list of all the times I see Julie because she apparently showed up for some episodes for this season.

Default Cool

First off, THANK YOU for checking into it. Mack appears in the opening credits for a total of four episodes. The one ep out of the four I saw NO scenes with Julie is when Ann is Jealous of Sam's ex and she hits him out of frustration. I do remember seeing her in the other three eps that her profile credit appeared in. I know that season nine opening was most likely created after Mack left with some taped episodes already in the bag. One of the shots that she was in was used in the opening of the theme song. (The ep when Mark opens his dental practice and the sisters/hubbys toast). When they put the final season opening together, I think they still put in it since she was obviously in certain eps. It does not make sense to have her in the opening if she is not in anymore of the actual eps due to her permanent departure. (The previous season, she only appeared in the opening credits if she was actually in the episode)

I have just uploaded both scenes with Julie in them to YouTube. Both come from S09E01

I just watched them. Thanks for uploading. That was cool. However, these scenes ARE in the show. LOL. I was afraid that you thought I was talking about these but it is another episode I was referring to. These scenes did air intact on a syndicated print on "E" when I first saw it back in 1996.

There is another ep in that season where Ann is jealous of Sam's ex and Mack appears in credits but no scenes which got me to wondering if she was edited out? Maybe she was still paid for doing the ep though she might have never finished it due to the drug test request and her walking out.

I still am grateful because it gave me a chance to see them again. So, thanks, JoshLarson24 for taking time out to do it. Plus, people can see the transformation physically in her if they wish.

Oh my bad! I was able to edit the information on YouTube before too many people saw it.

I will be uploading clips from time to time on YouTube so we can keep this One Day at a Time board going. It was quiet before Antenna TV started airing it so it is great to see it back and running.

I don't watch it on Antenna TV too often so I never know what is being edited out from their versions unless I catch an episode while it is airing.

I am grateful for the clips as I just lost a bunch of episodes. We have some good activity on the board. Cool of you to take the time to post. Now, if you want to do something really good, then you should put the season nine opening back up with Mack in it. I have the version with Howard Hessman up w/o Mack in it.

That will be much appreciated by me since I don't get Antenna TV!

Thanks, JoshLarson24!!!! I loved looking at it. I have always had the issue about Mack being billed behind the guys in the opening. This was similar to the previous season when she Michael Lembeck came back for frequent appearances as they were billed behind other cast member only for the eps they would be in.

In this case in regard to the last season, I think she should have been billed behind Schnieder (at least). I realized the show took another direction but she should have been moved ahead of Boyd Gaines in this case. Howard Hessman was the hubby now so, I give a pass with him being billed behind Bonnie Franklin. Mack should have been billed before or after Pat Harrington. (Hands Down!) I have a feeling that this opening was created after Mack filmed her eps for the show and left so maybe they put her credit in that order because she was not coming back to the show.
