Don't know if this has been asked in the past, but does anyone recall the Partridge Family spin-off sitcom "Getting Together" which aired on ABC from 1971-72 for 14 episodes - before being cancelled in January, 1972 ? The show didn't have a chance against 'All In The Family' on CBS, and was replaced by "Bewitched" in January, 1972 - which also failed against AITF.
The comedy starred Bobby Sherman and Wes Stern as songwriters, and Sherman was the legal guardian of his younger sister. The characters were introduced on the last episode of TPF of it's first season. I vaguely remember the show - I remember Sherman's theme song clearly (it's even on Youtube). Anyone else? |

This show had one of the greatest television pop songs ever created. It premiered in the spinoff episode and was sung by Bobby Sherman and written by the Wes Stern character. The name of the song was "Stephanie" and it was a great upbeat love song. . ."Stephanie, who's eyes are so blue, I am just so in love with you.. . ." Then at some point in the song it says"All but the growing. . . .and that's up to YOU.""

Wow! I don't recall that at all. Again - I barely remember the show itself - I do remember watching it each week, kind of remember Sherman and Stern, and the fact that they sang in each episode (or so it seemed). I don't recall the song you mentioned, though.
It's strange - the stuff we remember from when we were young. |
