Default Have any of the actors from UM posted here?

Has any of the actors that portrayed some of the key figures on UM ever posted here?

I imagine it's possible that someone called 1-800-576-5353 thinking they saw a wanted person when it was the actor that portrayed whomever was wanted.

Viktory posted on here a few times; she portrayed Rhonda Hinson on UM and provided some information that wasn't on the segment.

I'm not certain if any of the actors were ever reported to police, but it sounds like there was at least one incident where the actor who portrayed a criminal on UM was recognized. Here's a thread: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...d.php?t=295944

It seems like I read somewhere along the line that the actor who portrayed Michaela Garrecht's abductor ran into some problems after the initial airing of that story.

She was really sweet. And I remember her saying she wasn't the original choice the UM producers had to play Rhonda, which amazed me because once they gave her hair the Farrah Fawcett curls, she was a dead ringer for the real Rhonda Hinson.

A few years back, before Cosgrove/Meurer Productions got all psycho about UM segments appearing on the forbidden site, I sent her a link to the Rhonda Hinson segment and she loved it because of the picture quality. She still had the original from the night it aired on tape and it was not in very good shape anymore.

Good thread. I always picture idiots calling in and it is the actor lol

My husband and friend laugh because I get on these forums. They said, "You could be talking to a killer and not know. You know they lurk on boards" lol true.

I forgot that Viktory played Rhonda in the re-enactment! I do remember her being very nice to talk to. I hope she's doing well.

Not sure about you guys, but I sure hope the dude who played Larry Dickens posts on here one day.

Years ago, when I wrote about the UM Alcatraz segment on another website, I actually received an E-mail from the actor who played John Anglin. He shared some interesting stories and the best one was how he got the job through a woman in a small local talent agency... but she mysteriously cleaned out her office and skipped town before he got paid. An unsolved mystery-within-an-unsolved mystery!

Did he share any tidbits or behind the scenes stuff regarding filming on Alcatraz with UM?

That was one segment I always like and helped started an obsession with Alcatraz.

He mentioned that the staff at Alcatraz were pretty anal about filming the re-enactments where the convicts dig through the walls or cut through the bars and that there was a park ranger standing over the actors' shoulders at all times to make sure they didn't do any real damage.

Oh, and the actors really did walk into the water at night during the filming of the escape and it was as cold as it looked onscreen.

It has been some time since I read the article, but I seem to recall the man who played Michaela's abductor reported people in public would look at him strangely or point and whisper for weeks after the episode aired.

It definitely happened with America's Most Wanted re-enactments several times.

There's one case in the early '90's where the actor actually sued because of the arrest.

http://articles.latimes.com/1992-12-...istaken-arrest

Here's another case as recent as 2012
