what type of computer do you have?

a desktop/tower will usually have some ports on the back and a couple on the front, usually down at the bottom

a laptop will usually have USB ports on the sides, or sometimes on the back

I have a tower and I have 2 USB ports in front and 4 on the back.
Maybe this photo will help?As I said any of them will work. My printer, keyboard and mouse are plugged into them.
