Default So glad season 3 starts next week because the "Ginny" character stinks

Not easy on the eyes on top of not being funny and basically served no purpose on the show. I can see why the character was eliminated because looked too old to be friends with Ann so the decision was the right one lol

Yeah ya know I was thinking that tonight! Not sure if I like the Ginny character or not? I think she takes away from the family and we could do without her. So she is only in season 2?

Yup, after season 2 the character is no longer seen.

Just like the episode with her and her ex husband, why did we need to see that? LOL

I love Ginny! Ginny's Child and The Singles Bar are two of my favorite One Day at a Time episodes and both Ginny centric. Mary Louise Wilson has great comedic timing and I love anything she does. But it is true, her character pulled focus from what the show was really about.

The Singles Bar episode should be interesting. I think it comes on Sunday night

It reminds me of the singles bar episode of Alice, big time!

They both looked too old to have a ten year old daughter! I thought that was a boring ep. See I like the focus to be on Ann and the girls!

Very weak episode. Felt like a pilot for a Ginny spinoff lol

I do agree on both counts. I really liked the character. I loved how she had Ann's back. She is the kind of neighbor I'd like to have in my corner. Loved how she backed up Ann with that shady furniture guy.

I guess her character did pull focus away. Maybe she could have been a recurring character. I did not like that she disappeared out of thin air. I read a few times, that Bonnie Franklin had something to do with the change for season 3 with Mary Wilson (Not the singer) not returning. She was very stellar and perhaps a little too strong to be a supporting character. She could have held her own on her own series if Lear gave her one. Now, almost a year after her tenure on One Day, she made her appearance in one of the final eps of "Maude" where her character drops dead in the living room and Maude takes over her political spot.

I do think that Ms. Ginny had the chops for her own show. What she gave to the sitcom was cool but would have been better suited for her own series.
