This week, I rented The Last Castle, Hearts in Atlantis, Riding in Cars with Boys, Rock Star and Training Day--all good movies.
Captain Corelli's Mandolin--with Nicholas Cage and Penelope Cruz--yawn. |

I recently rented "Meet The Parents" because I never got
around to seeing it before and it was so funny. One of my favorite parts is when the Father is talking to his daughter about the cat being the ring barer (sp?) for her wedding and she says "I don't want that stupid cat in my wedding!" So the Father goes "Stupid cat? stupid cat?! What do you mean stupid cat?!? That cat's been like a brother to you!!". haha! I don't know why,but I crack up uncontrollably every time he says that. I guess it's just funny that he's so obsessed with that friggen potty trained cat.

This weekend I rented "Wet Hot American Summer," starring Janeane Garofalo and David Hyde Pierce. It's a very funny parody of the "Summer Camp" sex comedy movies of the 70's like "Meatballs." Very funny.

(Abby nods) Carter: No, you give it every three seconds... Abby: I think you left out that little detail. Susan: How's his pressure? Abby: Oh.. Zero over zero, he's dead. (Pause, eye roll) I'm kidding! ~*~ Carter: Whats wrong? Abby: I don’t know, maybe I’m still getting over our break-up. Carter: You talked to Rena. I’m sorry I panicked. What did you say to her? Abby: Nothing. Carter: No really. Abby: Against my better judgment and everything I hold sacred in life I covered for you, so you owe me. Carter: Thank you. Abby: Mmhmm, sure. Also, I told her I dumped you. Carter: (laughs) You dumped me? She believe you? Abby: ‘Course she did why wouldn’t she? Carter: Well, it’s just... you’d never dump me. Abby:I would dump you like a bad habit. Carter: Oh no. I'd definitely dump you first. Abby: In your dreams maybe. Carter: Oh I would dump you. Abby: Wouldn’t. Carter: Now your talking crazy. ~*~ Louise: Mama, how come I have four fathers? Rose: Beacause your special... You can read palms.. And stuff.--Gypsy |

Just the other day I rented Rat Race and I loved it. Now if your one of those people who likes Jim Carrey movies or Austin Powers then you'll like this movie beacuse it has the same type of humor.

Can't say I've rented any lately, but I have watched a few on TV in the past 2 weeks:
The Brady Bunch Movie (1995) - Actually surprised me with clever parodies, nifty cameos and good puns. A tone down of the innuendo would have made it even bettter. ***+ Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2000) - It is actually very good. Lots of "stone-age changes", sight gags and funny dialogue. *** Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II (1991) - Brought back memories of my childhood fandom of the cartoon. Cleverly-written and witty. *** Mr. Magoo (1997) - It's alright. Could have been better, but it has many laughs. **+ Facts of Life, The (1960) - Although amusing at a few points, its a gross underuse of the combined comedic talents of Bob Hope and Lucy Ball. Slapstick, anyone? *+ |

I rented Babel and The Prestige through netflix. I didn't like The Prestige, too much jumping from the past to present it got confusing. Babel was pretty good.
