Default It's Sad That Action Movies Have Declined

I miss the days of the 80's and 90's when there was so many classic action movies that came out like The Terminator 1 and 2, Die Hard 1 and 2, The Last Boy Scout, Cobra, Rambo 2, Tango and Cash, Commando, Action Jackson, Death Wish 1,2,3, The Delta Force 1 and 2, 48 Hours 1 and 2, Lethal Weapon 1,2,4 Above The Law, Hard To Kill, Out For Justice, Exit Wounds, The Glimmer Man, Fire Down Below, Double Impact, Lionheart, Universal Soldier, Hard Target, Maximum Risk, The Rookie, The Dead Pool, Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact. There's been a few action movies that come out this decade that I like such as Fast and the Furious 1,2,4,5,6,7 A Man Apart, Running Scared, Parker, Gangster Squad, The Transporter 2 and 3, Safe, Blitz, Homefront, Bullet To The Head, The Expendables 1 and 2, Die Hard 5, The Last Stand, Sabotage and I like the straight to video movies that Steven Seagal and Jean Claude Van Damme have done.

I'm glad that old action stars like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jean Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren and Jason Statham are trying to keep action movies alive because it looks like there aren't gonna be any new action stars that are gonna come out anytime soon. I saw previews recently for a new Transporter movie but Jason Statham won't be in it. There's another guy I saw that's replacing Jason and i've never seen him. I wanna check it out because I liked the previews. I also saw The Gunman recently with Sean Penn, Javier Bardem and Idris Elba and it was pretty good. There wasn't a lot of action but it was enough action to keep me interested. I liked Sean's cute girlfriend.

Unfortunately its also due to the changing tastes of the movie going public, for every Stallone and Schwarzenegger there were also the Steven Segall and Jean Claude Van-Damme and to a lesser extent the wannabe's like Brian Bosworth and Jeff Speakman.

Today, people want more fast paced action movies. More action and less talk. But they always find room for the stupid cliches lol. This is why The Fast and Furious franchise has done so well. It pretty much outshines all other action movies.

You're right but I don't think the Fast and the Furious sequels outshine most action movies today. The last few action movies I've seen that have come to theaters that I think are better than Fast and the Furious sequels is The Expendables 1, Bullet To The Head with Sylvester Stallone, Parker with Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez, The Last Stand and Sabotage with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gangster Squad with Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling. It seems like most action movies go straight to video now which I don't have a problem with. I understand there's gonna be some independent movies that won't go to theaters.

Last action movie I saw was Wild Card with Jason Statham and it's good. Has anybody seen that?

I agree. Movies that are coming to theaters are wack LOL. I like straight to video movies better than movies that come to theaters. I've seen lots of action movies that are straight to video that are good with Bruce Willis, Jean Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, former wrestler Steve Austin, Steven Seagal, Jason Statham. I'm surprised Sylvester Stallone hasn't done that many straight to video movies.

I SELDOM see a movie in the theaters these days. They've become WAAAAAAAAAY too expensive these days (A Movie, along with a box of popcorn and a soda can easily set you back $15.00 or more. If there is something that tickles my fancy. I can usually buy it (on home video) for $15.00 or so, and if wait a year it will set me back $5.00 at Uncle Wally's or Targhee.

Yeah I know what you mean about how movie theaters have expensive prices for food and drinks. I don't buy food and drinks when I go to the movies. I might buy popcorn sometimes but that's it. The movie theater I go to, their matinee price is $10. I never go to the movies at night because the price is expensive. There's only one video store I go to and their new movies cost $3. I'm glad they're in business because there aren't any video stores anymore since Blockbuster Video closed. I think the reason they're still in business is because they also sell pornos hahahahahahahahahahaha. The white guy who owns the store said most of his men customers rent pornos and he said I'm one of the few that rent movies. I never watch pornos.
