What I mean is that he willingly sacrificed/compromised his comedic sensibilities (if you believe the stories that he was a "dirty" comedian before Full House) in favor of starring in a corny, cheeseball, schmaltzy family sitcom. I mean, Redd Foxx was a dirty stand-up comedian too, but when he did Sanford and Son, he didn't sacrifice his "persona" or comedic edge in the transition.

I never thought about it before, but when you put it that way then yes, Bob Saget does seem like a sellout. He was a cornball on America's Funniest Home Videos too.
As for Redd Foxx, he may have kept his comedic edge on Sanford & Son, but I'm sure he would have loved for it to be much more risque than it was. |

to me he isn't a sell out..he is a comedian/actor and he goes where the work is available and they want him....
