Lionel disrespected his father.

Lionel was acting like a playboy, he was considering dropping out of college and when Louise said that he needs a college education, Lionel said... "Look at Pop.... he made it without a high school diploma, no college diploma... AND NO BRAINS!!!"
What a disrespectful punk!
No "brains"? I don't think so. I takes A LOT OF INTELLEGENCE to make it in business. George was a SUCCESS and Lionel was a disrespectful, spoiled brat. He deserved to get slapped by Louise.

You know I could see Lionel's point about going out and making contacts and whatnot but to say that his father had no brains was wrong. I agree.

Like you said, you have to have brains to be successful.

Yeah I did agree that Louise was making too big a deal about a damm degree which I am old enough to know is overrated

What Lionel said about his father was so outrageous, disrespectful and untrue. Lionel was the one with "no brains" if he could say something like that about his own father who was a successful business man.
