ONE BEDROOM apt? LOL

What was the rush since he was obviously could not afford to buy a house. That's why Terri asked......."what about the kids?

That just sounded so dumb and I guess I never paid it any attention until now. I always thought they moved into a House. Damm it could have been atleast a 2 bedroom apt

Yeah it was just real sloppy on the producers part, they should have introduced Philip at the start of the season to at least build up the romance with Janet. Same thing with Jack and Vicki, they just met on an airplane and already Jack wants to spend the rest of his life with someone he just met?

They didn't know at the start of the season that ratings were going into a steep decline and the show was going to be canceled.

All this was just a last ditch effort by the producers to keep something going with Three's A Crowd.

If the ending of Three's Company seems unsatisfying, hurried, and rushed, that's because it was.

Well they should have been thinking more about ending the show anyway because at that point they were getting too old to be sharing an apt together

I just checked my handy Chris Mann book, and apparently in November 1983 everyone was notified that the series would be ending, right around the time they filmed "Baby It's Cold Inside" (the ep with Furley and Jack locked in the freezer).

That's 13 episodes into Season 8 and about 9 episodes away from the finale. I still say they could have scrambled and at least introduced Philip earlier. That would have worked to wrap up Janet's story even if they didn't know for sure about the TAC spin-off yet.

In Season 5 when Suzanne left, they were forced to scramble and pulled off some incredible hail-Mary script-writing, so they could definitely have pulled it off in Season 8. But I guess it's easy to criticize now that it's over.

Another good point is that supposedly Phil came from wealth, so why would he and Janet move into a one bedroom apartment if he had so much money?

Considering how dull I found Season 7 to be, expecting the writers to come up with a clever way to end the final season was probably asking for too much. The show ran out of gas in Season 7. Creative juices were no longer flowing.

DULL??

Season 4 and 7 had the Best episodes

Season 6 and 5 had the worst

At least Season 7 had the Bistro to break up the scenery and get out of the trio's apartment. But I have to agree with you about Season 8....I think by then the recycled plots were getting a little too repetitive, although "Grandma Jack" is one of the best episodes in the entire series.

I wouldn't say it totally replaced the Beagle because they were at the Beagle a few times in 7 and 8 but much less than in the past since Jack's Bistro had opened.

I think they were only at the beagles once or twice in season 7
