Craig T. Nelson will be reprising his role as Hayden Fox. In the sequel series he will be an assistant coach on his grown son's team. 13 episode order, this time it will be on NBC.

I dunno. This has the makings of a disaster even if I did enjoy Coach back in the day and often hold it up as one of the most underappreciated sitcoms of that era.

If Girl Meets World can do it, Coach can do it too and succeed, I'm hoping.

It's also on Netflix which helps its cause, but still, it seems like a pretty random choice. Especially considering it didn't originally air on NBC!

Don't you think you're complicating things by asking "how things matter"? The truth is, it's not right to pretend that an old show produced by a production company aired on a network that owns both the program and the production company today rather than the network that originally aired it. You can't deny that the show aired on a network other than the one that currently owns it. Also, this according to Deadline: Quote:

I never thought Coach was that funny of a show... It was IMHO always kind of boring. I don't get all the love for this show. There are many other shows much more suited for a revamp.

I wasn't a mega-fan of Coach, but I'd give the reboot a chance.
All of these reboots remind me of the 80s reboots like The New Gidget, The New WKRP in in Cincinnati, and What's Happenning Now!! |
