Default Archie Bunker finale

This could be added to AITF and Archie Bunker's Place.

This is how I would have written the finale for Archie Bunker.

Archie is sitting in his bar exhausted and tired from being overworked and swamped and admits that he is getting too old for running things.

His friends suggest that it may be time to retire and move on from his life in Queens especially since Gloria is in upstate NY, Edith is gone and his neices are grown up now.

Barney suggests that he move down to Sunny Oaks Florida (made up) and live in his brother's condo apartment complex near the beach.

Archie thinks about this idea and agrees. Barney and the gang have a farewell Archie party and the bar before Archie sells it over to Harry.

Archie then looks around his house one last time and says out loud..."Well, Edith, it's finally time to leave this house that you took care of and made beautiful like only you could"......a long sigh is let out..he shuts the front door as he exits to audience applause.

The next shot is of Archie down in Sunny Oaks (which he pronounces Sunny Soaks) and is informed that Barney's brother actually sold the condo complex to an investor who plans on upgrading the place to include other facilities within the complex including a cleaners.....that's right Barney's brother sold the complex to George Jefferson.

George and Louise meet Archie to whom all three look like an ohhhh veyyyyy look.

I like it! Reading the part about Archie leaving the house and talking aloud to Edith (her spirit) brought a tear to my eye. Love the part about the condo being owned by George Jefferson - I can just see the looks on their faces - LOL!
