"Shameless" Star to Play Cyrus' Wife
by Natalie Abrams 3/25/15 "Scandal" fans are about to meet Cyrus’ wife. Yes, wife. EW has learned that "Shameless" star Emily Bergl has been tapped to play the Chief of Staff’s former spouse Janet, to whom he was married before coming out. Bergl will appear during Thursday’s episode, which features a look at Cyrus’ relationships throughout the years as he faces his impending marriage to Michael (Matthew Del Negro). “Shonda Rhimes wrote a really Cyrus-centric episode,” Jeff Perry recently told EW. “How did this man come to be this man? She wanted to go into three or four different time periods of his experience.
