there was a feel-good episode where an elderly couple helps a stranger, and then they got checks in the mail.
i think they were suggesting the stranger was an angel. |

It was some older couple in Florida who either helped a successful man posing as a tramp, or a classy man fallen on hard times whose fortunes later improved. Either way he remembered their kindness and rewarded them richly.

It's been years since I saw Highway to Heaven or Touched by an Angel but it seems to me that most of the plots were human interest stories which had to do with non-financial solutions to the problems even of individuals obsessed by money. I don't remember anyone being sent checks to help out! There were a couple of shows like that but I think they involved wealthy benefactors, not angels.
