In the episode where Wally is the model for Eddies's girlfriend to make Eddy a sweater, Lumpy keeps singing "Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoomy zoom" or something similar. Eddie tells him to knock it off.

Any idea if there was a song or television show where Lumpy would have gotten this from?

In that scene, Eddie says something like ..." Who do you you think you are Pablo Casals?"...Lumpy asked who is he? And Eddie mentioned he played at the White House.

If you look it up, Pablo did perform in the White House in 1961.

Lumpy was probably just singing notes as he drummed away on the steering wheel. Eddie was doing the same thing when he and Wally were playing chess (Eddie Spends the Night) not really singing just zubby zubby zub zub (according to Beaver.)

Eddie often sang well known songs...."Oh baby won't you please come home your loving daddy is all alone."

Come ona my house my house come ona I'ma gonna give you candy.

In seeing the episode over the years where Lumpy did the "zoom...zoom.." business, I, too have wondered where it came from. The one thing I can think of is the opening lines to a 1956 novelty record called "Ape Call" performed by Nervous Norvus (true-name Jimmy Drake).

Maybe Frank Bank (Lumpy) started saying that one day before or after rehearsal and someone heard it and decided to use it in the episode to fill the time in the particular scenes it was used in.

OMG you are so right. Lumpy is singing that song. I never heard of it so it was funny knowing that's what he's imitating. Wonder if they had to pay for the rights.
