I thought it was wrong of Lumpy's dad to tell Lumpy about him losing his scholarship during his party. I would have waited until he got home to tell him. I know there were presents and all to return, but still...

What would you have done if it was your kid?

IMO it was Fred being Fred. Although Lumpy was somewhat chubby and socially awkward he wasn't a bad kid. On the other hand Fred was always brash, overbearing and totally obnoxious. He was always bragging that he had a better car, better job, higher income, and new people in high places or rich and important people. Fred was actually a looser not Lumpy. I think Fred was secretly envious of Lumpy!
