Default Favorite season 6 episodes

Some people don't like season 6 but I think it had some great episodes. Here are my absolute favorites of the season...

"Slices of Life"
"Cruisin'" (This is probably in my top 10 of the entire series. A great episode!)
"The Last Drive-In" (This episode is a favorite of mine because I'm a huge fan of nostalgia.)

And...I'd say "The Interview Show" is probably my most hated episode of the entire series. Boring.

I had watched all 9 seasons recently and so I decided to go over an episode guide for season six to pick out my favorites and I couldn't. None of the episodes stick out as a favorite of mine. Like I didn't dislike the season. There are just no episodes I can choose as favorites.

I will agree with you that "The Interview Show" is the worst one. I mean did they think they were "M*A*S*H" or something?

I made the mistake of watching the pizza episode while I was hungry but had very little food in the house and no money, so that sucked, lol. I'll have to watch that one again while I'm eating a pizza.

HAHA@the pizza comment!

"Cruisin'" is such a great episode. I'm surprised you don't like it.

Eh, I like that one. It's just I don't count it as a favorite. I will say that my older sister seems to remember that episode fondly.

You know what? I liked "Me and Eleanor", where Tootie is doing a one-woman play about Eleanor Roosevelt. I might pick that as my favorite.

I like "The Interview Show", mostly Tootie's and Mrs. Garrett's interviews. From Tootie's we get a lot of nostalgia (and the root of origin of her nickname "Tootie"---FINALLY, after 6 years---!), and it's so warm and cozy hearing Mrs. Garrett talk of her years with the school and her girls. Blair and Jo's are alright too, but Natalie's seems to mostly be just linking season 2's attack on her from her history.

Plus, it has just about the sweetest end of any episode in the entire series. That whole moment between Mrs. Garrett helping Blair with her coat on, appreciating her grown-up girl whom she's been with right from her start, and that loving visual emotional exchange the two of them have; no words are said, and it's just a very lovely moment.

Just watched that episode. It's good to have Eastland back, if only for one episode. And as you say, that last moment between Mrs. G and Blair, without words, is very sweet. Thanks for mentioning this episode.

Two episodes that have been mentioned in this thread so far are "Crusin" and "Dear Apple". Both of these episodes have a special significance to me. In "Crusin", Blair saw a girl who she did not like out of the window of the car. She would have been very embarrassed if she saw her riding in a car with three girls on a Saturday Night. In an attempt to keep the other girl from seeing her, she put her purse between her face and the window of the car. I thought that was very cute! Throughout the run of the series, there were a lot of episodes in which Blair would wear a skirt with a pair of designer boots. I always thought that she looked hot in this attire! Towards the end of the episode "Dear Apple", we see her walking down the corridor of the school in a lovely pair of dress boots. Man did I drool!

I'm just starting Season 6 and so far I've watched "Summer of 84" and "A Slice of Life" I hope the rest of the season isn't as bad as these two episodes. "Summer of 84" is the worst episode I've seen so far and frankly I've seen some pretty bad ones so that's saying a lot. I coudn't stand "A Slice of Life" with Tootie's whining. OMG....

I enjoyed So84 enough, except the (imo) ridiculously contrived trait that Jo is an expert piano player.

But I don't even remember Tootie whining at all in ASoL. In fact, I was bothered by Natalie and how she just took Tootie's money and invested it without asking her.

S6 is definitely when the show starts to lose its mojo. S8 sorta breathes new life into it, IMO with Beverly Ann adding a new dynamic.

My favourite season 6 episode is 'working it out': i love how worried and caring Mrs G gets towards Blair.

I loved the first 5 seasons. You see the cast grow into an ensemble with Mrs G being the glue that holds everyone together. Therefore this is the season of change as Ms G is seen less. This makes it bittersweet. Also episodes are leaving 70s topical themes which I like to 80s sitcom. That's good for laughs or fluff but not where this show started

Favorite Mrs G episodes
# 7 E.G.O.C.
#10 Talk, Talk, Talk
#24 The Interview Show

Favorite other episodes
#2 A Slice of Life
#5 Cruising

The worst
#12 the Rich Aren't Different - Why didn't we find out what happened to Mrs G and her math. Taking this fight to court was unbelievable and not funny

#14 Me and Eleanor. Tootie wanting to protray a Caucasian woman detracts from anything else going onhere. Bad writing
