The only negative I have for LITB is the attitude of the “better living through chemistry” mantra.

They did not know though and I am sure they would have worked against if they did

I have to disagree because everything they made back then was natual and I don't think the chemicals we have nowdays didn't really start until the late 70's - early 80's. This is just my opinion, but people were healthier back then because food and other things they used were all natural. Again, just my opinion from word of mouth as I do not have actual facts to back it up.
