Default Just realized that this show was on the air for 8 years and there was never a episode

with the trio at the beach

Wonder why since they lived so close to the beach? Married With Children had a episode with the Bundys at the beach for the entire episode and we never saw the beach in that show's opening credits

There was one episode where the nearby beach was turned into a nude beach. Janet and Mrs. Roper pais and a visit to the beach and then realized they were locked out of the building!! (I guess they had no pockets to carry a key in!!!)

That is true. I thought about that too. Why have them live at the beach and never even show them there?

Yeah they could have easily borrowed another set for scenes at the beach, I mean man there were lots of missed opportunities seeing the girls in bathing suits....

....oh but I just realized what's the use if they were going to be wearing panty hose?

Good question. 172 episodes and it's amazing how little we know. I mean give the writers credit that they managed to create a lot of storylines in a very small area, just the apartment.

Maybe the producers were just too cheap to build a lot of sets away from the apartment.

And as JackJanetChrissy pointed out in a previous post, it's interesting how they're wearing long sleeves and turtle necks all the time.....you'd think Southern Cali would be warmer.

I always wondered that too. It would have been cool to see some beach episodes. There were many possible beach scenarios they could have used.

In California by the beach it gets cool at night and us from So Cal are not used to the cold some will wear long sleeves when its 70.

I mean if I said the Bundys on the beach for an entire episode we defintely could have seen the trio on the beach

The scary image I'm thinking had a beach episode been done during the Roper's tenure, the thought of Helen in a bathing suit, , but now that I remember on The Roper's spin-off there were various occasions when Stanley and Helen would get into that disease riddled hot tub they had.

And seeing Mr. Furley in swim trunks would have been hysterical, his chicken legs for all to see.

I always thought Mrs. Roper had great legs on the few occasions we saw them. One time was in "Good Old Reliable Janet" when she and Janet come back from the nude demonstration and Larry gives them towels. I was actually kind of surprised---she could have hidden anything under those muumuus.

That is strange. The Disney Channel's "Austin and Ally" did at least one ep where they were at the beach and the set had sand and everything. But then again, "TC" was in the 70's and we're in the 2000's now. A LOT has changed!

The introduction for the first several seasons was on the boardwalk. The brunette walking by is actually Suzanne Somers in a wig. Jack falls off his bike and is still smiling. My nephews used to play this game were they would intentionally fall off there bikes and la on the ground unhurt laughing. The introduction in the 4th season or so with Mr Furley they once more were at the boardwalk.
