Why did they stop the show?? Was it because of Ted Danson??

I think the whole cast just got tired of doing the show after doing it for 11 seasons, but I'm not sure if that's the reason it ended or not.

I'm pretty sure the main reason was Ted. He didn't want to do it anymore....the writers were thinking of making woody into the main character....but they decided not to. The other castmembers mighta got tired too.

I AGREE WITH THAT,I honestlly as well think that they all got tired of doing it,since ted danson i know for sure somewhere along the lines he got tired of playing sam and he choose to discontinue the show after the 11th season,saying that number 11 would be his last,achually 11 is my lucky number pretty cool i guess hahaha,nut i also seem to remember hearing him in an interview saying that they all felt like it was time to leave cheers,I achually think it was a perfect place to end,I just wish that shelley long was there through the whole 11 years even though i realize she couldn,t but then again kirstie alley turned out to be an good aditon and was also very very likeable,but i think it would have been alot better with her personally,but anyways,I think they all thought that it was time for it to come to a close,but they did go out with style i think,but not like they could have,I hope this helps LOL CHEERS!

yea, ted said it was time to move on.. hes quoted saying on my tv guide : "im not doing this as a career move, because that would be a bad one"
