Valerie Peterson - interesting. do you think they intentionally killed her or was it an accidental? it sounds based on her friend they wanted to kill her, perhaps for "fun".

Oh absolutely they killed her. Someone even went back to the crime scene and tried to stage skid marks to make it look like an accident. The main suspect came from a well-to-do family in the area, and was bolted right out of town right after the murder, so that's largely why he's gotten away with it. I find it sickening none of them have served a day behind bars for this crime.

Thanks for reading about the stories.

so if it was intentional, why ? did he have a vendetta against the family? or was this some idea of fun?

btw thanks for sharing i find it interesting. there's a lot of crimes like this and you can guess my preferred explanation.

diana provost disappeared in an eyeblink from her family in a campground. her father saw her in walking toward cabin, looked down for a second for his stuff, looked up and she disappeared. missing to this day.

Diane Prevost. Her father was untangling a fishing line and she disappeared then. This was in Canada.

Corrine Elaine Perry vanished from Creston, Iowa on April 17, 1983 after leaving a local laundromat. Her purse was found on a bridge 7 miles out of town a few days later. Her car was abandoned at the laundromat, basket of folded laundry inside. In November 1984, he remains were found in a shallow grave, no far from where her purse was found. The coroner was unable to determine her cause of death.

I always thought Diane Prevost was abducted by someone who wanted to raise a child. Being from Canada, I heard her story a lot through the years.

the question is, how can u snatch a child in front of a parent without anyone seeing or hearing anything?

i think its one of those cases that when all normal explanations run out, it was paranormal. she fell into a vortex like flight 19 in bermuda triangle.

Diane was playing in the sand at the edge of the trees, while her father tried to unsnag his fishing line. Her parents has turned their backs for a minute, when they turned back, Diane was gone. Diane was afraid of the water, so if she did wander off, perhaps she went into the woods. Tons of cases where the family goes camping/ to the park, etc, turn their heads for a minute, then their child goes missing, Jennifer Klein was another example in the US. Michael Dunahee is a famous one here in Canada.

Guy Heckle was another child who went missing while on a Boy Scout camp-out in Iowa in 1973. Some believe he drowned, some suspect foul play.

i prefer the paranormal explanation that he fell into a time slip.

I was reading about that one literally hours before you posted that. Disappeared during a game of capture the flag. I must confess I've never played "Capture the flag", but it seems to have lots of variants on the rules. I was reading that there was a significant number of child molestation charges against Iowa boy scout leaders in the 70's, no idea if it has a connection here. I kinda get the feeling he drowned, but it seems like his body would have turned up in the last 40 or so years.

that would rule out being abducted by a paranormal entity though...

I believe in the paranormal too, but I'll just agree to disagree about that one.
