Yes!! And Patty Duke playing two characters was genius! And two very different girls too. I mean they were identical looking, but acted and talked so differently! It really was amazing that it was the same girl playing both parts! It really seemed like Patty and Cathy were two different identical twin actresses! Esp. for those days before all the technology! It really was something!!

I admire both actresses a lot, but the nod for me goes to Patty. There were some good storylines. I enjoy seeing actors who were just starting out too - Daniel J. Travanti, Kathy Garver - and the "star" guests like Troy Donahue and Frankie Avalon (although they did seem to go a little overboard with that). And William Schallert played a few roles himself - Poppo, Kenneth Lane and Uncle Jed!

Definitely Patty Duke. I liked Gidget at first but it got old with so few episodes.

It is somewhat hard to compare for Patty was on 3 years vs Gidget only one year.
