JJ was working at a advertising agency and didn't look for another place OUTSIDE the projects for him and his siblings to live since he was making more money? Why? lol

Willona was living alone in her 40's and really had no reason to come to the Evans house anymore and never tried to move out of the projects? Why? lol

Keep in mind this is all before the Penny character at the start of season 5

I can't answer your questions but I agree on both points. JJ could have tried to work in another company outside of the projects.

I had no problem with Wilona. I liked how we got to see more of her and her role be expanded.

WIllona really wasn't needed after Florida left that;s why they had to add that dumb a$$ girl to the show

I always thought they kept Willona 'around' [with Miss DuBois getting top billing] primarily so there'd be a 'chaperone' older adult looking out of the barely adult JJ& Thelma and teen Michael. Now whether the writers themselves came up with this or whether CBS Standards and Practices insisted on it, I have no idea but it wouldn't surprise me if that's why they kept Willona hovering around that apartment as much as possible [kinda like having Fonzie hover around his cycle in the first season so he would wear the leather jacket as often as possible].
Ironically, Miss DuBois is only two years older than Mr. Walker.

So odd because she was not needed anymore.

That's like keeping Larry around on Three's Company if John Ritter left the show due to contract issues lol The Larry character would have no reason to come to apt 201 anymore but i guess he would check in on the GIRLS. lol
